Network Interface Cards (NIC)

A network interface card is a circuit board that is installed in a slot inside a PC. NICs are installed into workstations, servers some printers and other nodes of a network. It is a shared boundary between a computer and a network. The role of a NIC is to provide a physical connection between a network and a computer, they control the sending, receiving and error detection of data exchanged between the computer and the network.
