In English we focused on using our reading comprehension skills to look at relevant websites and articles to develop a better understanding of how climate change affects the growth and develop of cotton plants. We learnt and developed an understanding of the technical language used to explain climate change. During our writing lessons we learnt how to write an explanation using a sizzling starter to engage the reader in our introductions and how to make links to the body of our text. We learnt how to write effective paragraphs using connectives, cause and effective language and the TEEL (Topic sentence, Explain, Example and Link) process so that we developed a cohesive piece of writing. Once we wrote our first draft we then learnt how to use feedback to edit and review our writing against a rubric that listed the success criteria. This was our final piece of writing.
