What will students learn to do?
Project Based Learning is at the core of the iSTEM course. Project Based Learning involves students collaborating in their learning with other students to complete a project. Students will be taught how to effectively work in teams to complete tasks at hand. This is a skill increasingly being sought by employers.
Students will integrate the four STEM cores to explain the why and the how of their projects.
Record of Student Achievement (RoSA)
Satisfactory completion of 100 or 200 hours of study in iSTEM during Stage 5 (Years 9 and 10) will be recorded with a grade on the Record of Student Achievement.
HSC Implications
There is no direct course for iSTEM in the HSC. Engineering Studies, Physics, ICT and Higher Level Mathematics courses are the HSC courses for the iSTEM course
