Majority of the legends I have studied as part of my project originated hundreds of years ago. During this time many people beleived in mythical creatures and urban legends, in fact it was often controversial to deny their existence in any way. However, in modern day it is very common for people to not believe in these stories. Though this does not mean that there are not still believers of supernatural beings, such as those I have researched. As I was working on my project I began to wonder how the beliefs of mythical creatures vary from person to person. I conducted a survey amongst my peers regarding their beliefs on ghosts, bigfoot, and mermaids.
