On 12th of June, Kogarah High School proudly came together in solidarity to support Do It For Dolly Day — a national movement dedicated to raising awareness about bullying and promoting kindness, in memory of Amy "Dolly" Everett.
Dressed in blue, students and staff united to honour Dolly’s legacy and commit to building a culture where respect, compassion, and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. To mark the occasion, students were invited to wear blue, symbolising their support for Dolly’s Dream and their commitment to creating a safer, more compassionate world. Throughout the day, the school was filled with activities that inspired reflection and unity.
One of the most meaningful moments was the Kindness Wall, where students wrote anonymous notes of encouragement, gratitude, and support for their peers. As the wall filled with heartfelt messages, it became a visual reminder of the powerful impact that small acts of kindness can have within a school community.
Students also hosted a fundraising stall, offering a range of baked goods including cupcakes. Every purchase contributed directly to the Dolly’s Dream Foundation, supporting its work in educating communities and preventing bullying. We proudly raised $424 in profit, which was donated to the Dolly’s Dream Foundation — a wonderful reflection of our school community’s generosity and spirit.
The event concluded with a whole-school assembly led by our student leaders. They shared Dolly’s story with honesty and care, encouraging students to reflect on the power of their words and actions. The message was clear: we all have a role to play in building a culture where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.
