The Year 10 cohort have a busy term of excursions and activities planned. On April 4th, sixty Year 10 students will be travelling to the University of New South Wales (UNSW) to get a taste of university life. During the on-campus experience, run in collaboration with the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) students attend workshops where they will gain knowledge of UNSW degrees, learn strategies to develop and present compelling personal narratives, and network with UNSW alumni from a range of fields and industries. The year 10 cohort and their year advisors are really looking forward to this opportunity!
In addition, some select students will also be contributing to the Youth to Inspire Change (EYTIC) Youth Ambassador Program, which is a student leadership initiative with Gymea Community Aid. The group works together to build community engagement programs with the school and local community, to inspire positive change celebrating inclusive, diverse and empowered citizens. We welcome this contribution from our school community and encourage our Year 10 students to start thinking about how they can develop their leadership skills for the future.
Finally, there is an array of sport opportunities for our Year 10 students available at the moment, with several knockout tournaments for soccer, touch football, volleyball and basketball being played and in preparation. Good luck to all of our Year 10 students participating in these competitions.
