Reading Engagement Program 2025

Reading is a critical part of a student's success at school. Reading regularly will assist all students in being successful at school and beyond. This is why, here at Kogarah High School, we value reading so much. Reading regularly can benefit students. 

Due to this, we have developed a Reading Engagement program to support all students. Year 7 and 8 students are involved in reading each Session 3 for 10 minutes. All students are encouraged to engage and further connect to reading at home too! Please take the time to remind your students that reading will help them and encourage them to read every night.

Year 7 have been gifted the novel below and are reading it now. When completed, students will need to independently bring a book to read for Session 3, each day. This is also required of Year 8.
