We are learning about the importance of the canopy layer of native vegetation to animals.
Success Criteria:
We candescribe how the canopy layer is used by animals in our school grounds and near by parks.

Activity 3
Using the animal evidence cards above, with adult supervision, go outside and look for evidence of animals in and around the trees in your school ground, backyard or local park.
Sometimes the animals hide so well it is really hard to see them.
Record what evidence you found and what animal made that evidence.

If you spotted birds using the trees around you, record what they were doing, eg nesting, feeding, resting etc

Activity 5
Use the herbarium tree identification guides adjacent to identify the different species of trees in the school grounds.
Collect fallen flowers, leaves and seedpods to create a herbarium for the tree species in your school.
