The definition of participants is the people who change data within the information system, this includes carrying out the seven information processes (COASTPD). They are an essential part of the information system, as even the most advanced information system relies on people to operate it. The success or failure of the system depends on the skills, interests and commitment which the participants of the information system have.
Customers: These participants are the people who provide data to the information system, and allow the employees and managers to process the data into information.
Employees: These participants are the people who give the ability for customers to enter data into the system, and they do this by selling products, gathering data, etc.
Managers: These participants are the people who oversee the information system, and manage how every process of the system works.
