The social & ethical issues are made up of 5 components, these are Privacy, Data Accuracy, Copyright, Inclusivity & Ethical.
The definition of privacy is the ability for an individual or group to protect their personal information from unauthorized access from other people, and includes the feeling of seclusion where one can be safe from observation and intrusion. Another thing which privacy includes, is the feeling of our information not being collected, disclosed, or otherwise used without our knowledge or permission.
The website could be a privacy issue, as the site could have unforeseen bugs associated with it, which could cause a data breach, or possibly an attack by a hacker in attempt to steal data/information which the website may have behind closed doors.
The servers could be a privacy issue, as the servers could have been infected with a computer virus, which could cause a data breach, or data being uploaded online by a computer hacker in attempt to steal data/information which the servers may contain.
Privacy issues have happened to other companies before, an example of this is the recent CD Projekt Red who got data/information stolen from them after a ransomware attack. They had important documents, and game source code released online after somebody breached their servers, and auctioned their files on the internet.
The definition of data accuracy is the reliability of a source of information. Companies such as Dodge must consistantly update and check their data/information which is available publically for anyone to access to make sure that it is accurate, but this takes a large amount of time and money.
The website could have issues with data accuracy, as potentially some documentation for their vehicles could be inaccurate, such as emissions values for a vehicle being completly off, or the pricing of a car is not what it is meant to be.
If you are a customer, and are looking for specific information about a product, or information about Dodge. Always remember to double check all information which you have gathered, as it could be inaccurate.
The definition of copyright is the right to use, copy or control the work of authors and artists. Dodge has a copyright agreement in place, which means that their content is copyrighted.
The website is copyrighted under a DigitalMillennium Copyright Act (DMCA) policy, which is operated by FCA US LLC which is the owner of Dodge, which then falls under Stellantis who owns FCA US as well as PSA. The DMCA policy criminalizes production and dissemination of technology, devices, or services which are intended to circumvent measures that control access to copyrighted work, and in the case of FCA US, they respect the intellectual property rights of others.
The definition of inclusivity is the practise of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded.
The website could be classified as an inclusivity issue, as it can only be accessed with people who have internet access and people who have access to a computer device such as a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop.
The definition of ethical is relating to moral principles or the branch of knowledge dealing with these.
The information system as a whole could be classified as an ethical issue, as people who work at Dodge may lose their jobs due to advances in technology, for example the usage of robots in the production of vehicle, which causes people to lose their jobs.
