The definition of data is the raw material which is entered into an information system, and it can come in many forms such as audio, video, images, text, numbers, etc. It is entered into the system through an input device.

Some of the data which is entered into the information system which Dodge uses as apart of their usage of information technology, include:

• Manufacturing data such as when the vehicle was created, when it was sent out of the factory, etc.

• Vehicle data such as how much horsepower and torque the vehicle has, etc.

• Service data such as when the recent servicing happened, etc.
