Kindergarten 2026
Dear Parents/Carers,
A warm welcome to all of our 2026 Kindergarten families. We understand that this is a huge step for you and your child in the next chapter of their life. Starting school is filled with many emotions and we are here to support you along the way. This year we are operating our orientation program by offering more sessions, slightly shorter and dividing the group in half so we can work more closely with your child and get to know them well.
There will be 3 visits (see separate flyer enclosed for dates) held from 1.50-2.50pm on a Wednesday afternoon. During these sessions, we will offer a play-based program where students can visit a Kindergarten classroom and interact with their new friends. The cohort is broken up into 2 smaller groups to assist the children to settle in and provide teachers with a greater opportunity to get to know your child. We will read stories, sing songs and participate in play-based activities as we get to know each other.
After this we will provide a final longer session on 29th October from 9.15-11am, where all of the 2026 Kindergarten students will visit on the same morning and we will participate in play-based activities. The children will meet their Year 6 buddy and go on a tour of our school and finish up with a Teddy Bear’s picnic (a separate note with information for this will be sent home at a later date). Your child will bring home a goodie bag of information after this day to help you prepare your child for school in the coming weeks.
During the 4 orientation visits it is a requirement that ALL parents/carers remain onsite for the duration of time. With this in mind, we will be holding information sessions during each afternoon session to introduce you to new information for your child’s journey at ‘big school’. We will have an information session with our P&C, Uniform shop convenors, canteen coordinator, Learning & Support team, Office staff and OOSH.
To assist with communication, we will be emailing families so please ensure we have the correct email address and that you check it regularly. This will be the way we will share messages with you from now until the children’s first day. If you need any assistance, please see us on your child’s orientation day or call the office on 49547 296 and we can call you back.
We are really looking forward to getting to know you all and work closely with you as your child begins their school life.
Kind Regards,
Kristy Wynter, Alison Stallard & Kate Moran
