1886 - "S.S. Manning" conveys Sir Henry Parkes up river to Taree for visit.
1888 - Queen Victoria's Jubilee - Manning District Hospital built.

1901 - Inauguration of Commonwealth of Australia - Taree's population 871 - bacon 8d per lb., butter 10d per lb., coffee 11 d per lb., eggs 1/4 doz., ham 8d per lb., rabbits 7d a pair, rice 2%d per lb., soap 12/6 per cwt.
1902 - "Yankee Jack" acquired for river boat cream collection - War ended.
1904 - Breakwater at Harrington finished.
1905 - First Empire Day celebrated - Electric light in Taree - Pupil-teacher system phased out in schools - Australian population 4 000 000.
1906 - First lifesaving clubs formed.
1907 - First telephone trunk line service between capital cities.
1908 - "Kincumber" wrecked at Harrington on October 22.

1920 - Taree's first motorised taxi owned by Bert Mitchell.
1921 - Taree had 1 765 people, 960 people in outskirts.
1923 - First sod turned Parliament House, Canberra.
1924 - Maiden voyage of "Urana" of 518 tons, between Manning and Sydney.

2019 - Black Summer fires blanket our community, school was evacuated and closed, 33 deaths of which one was local to the Coopernook area
2012 - Coopernook was hit with once in a hundred floods, school was only reachable by boat
