A website is made up of three types of web pages:
Home page - the first page viewed, provides information about the purpose and subject matter of the website.
Intermediate pages- provide structure and assist on navigation of the website
Content pages - contain topic details and accessible from intermediate pages
Hypertext markup language (HTML) is used to create web pages. It is a set of special instructions called tags that indicate how parts of a webpage will be displayed. Most programs and software will automatically convert basic formatting features into HTML codes to allow users to layout text and graphics in their desired way.
