School Day Times

PLAYGROUND ACTIVITY AND TEACHER SUPERVISION 

Before School Parents are reminded that official supervision of students begins at 8:30am. 

Parents do not need to wait with their children. They should use the parent “pick up/drop off” zone outside the canteen.

Morning 

8:30am Playground supervision commences. Students can play in the basketball and COLA areas (hard surfaces). School bags are to remain with the students. Children are not to be in the classroom. 

8:55am All students assemble in lines under the COLA 

(Weekly on a Monday morning 8.55am bell for start of the week assembly, students are to make their way directly to the school hall.) 

*In the event of wet weather, children will be supervised in their classrooms by their teacher from 8:30am.

Lunch 

11am – 11:10am Eating time - Children assemble in classroom designated area and eat lunch whilst teacher supervises. 

11:10am – 11:40am Begin Play – Lunch duty, all areas of playground permitted. 

Recess 

1:10pm – 1:20pm Students eat recess with class teacher 

1:20pm – 1:50pm Play time - recess duty all areas of playground permitted. 

SCHOOL DISMISSAL 

School is dismissed at 3.00pm. Parents are able to collect their child from the back playground area/basketball courts or make arrangements for the child to safety travel home. 

The First FIVE weeks of Kindergarten 

Day One: On the final orientation session, each student will be assigned an individual start time for their first day of Kindergarten. Arriving at your allocated start time ensures a smooth and personable transition into the classroom. 

Day Two: From the second day of Kindergarten, students are asked to arrive from 9:00am and head straight to the classroom. There will be educators at the gates and in the classroom to help with transitions. 

Pick Up: Pick up will be at the back playground area/basketball courts at 2:45pm. Students will wait on the silver seats under the little COLA until family members have arrived. We ask that you please meet us inside the school grounds for a safe face-to-face handover of your child. 

Playtime:  Students will play in the outdoor kindergarten playground at recess and lunch times. This ensures close supervision of students, the development of relationships with peers and opportunities to develop social skills in a controlled environment. 

After the first five weeks, students will begin transitioning out to the whole school playground during recess and lunch and will follow the normal school start and finish times and routines.
