Message from the Principal

Baulkham Hills North Public School Home Learning Hub

We are all in this together once again!

COVID-19 has changed the world as we know it once again. The pandemic continues to impact on all our lives and unfortunately continues to cause disruption to the delivery of our educational program. This is not where we want things to be and we hope that it will be for only a short period of time, but until we return to normal operations, we will once again be relying on delivering the school’s learning program remotely to our students at BHNPS.

For the majority of our students this remote learning will take place through an online platform called Seesaw while for others it will done by completing pen and paper tasks being periodically supplied by the school. Both groups of students will be undertaking the same unit of work, at the same time, with the same learning outcomes being achieved.

Over the remote learning period our school will work closely with all of our families in the delivery of the home learning program and in doing so we are committed to providing you as much support as possible. You have been given a demanding task in overseeing the home learning program of your child/ren but you can be assured that the partnership which we hold so closely and value with all of our families will be continued and you can rely on us being there to support you at all times.

This BHNPS Home Learning Hub has been designed to support our parents and families as a ‘one stop shop’ for all things concerning the Home Learning Program at our school. It should be the ‘go to’ place where every day parents will find all the materials, resources, activities, ideas and handy tips and hints that you will need to support your child’s learning while they are at home. You MUST bookmark this site, save it to your favourites and visit it each and every day throughout this home learning period.

The Hub has been designed so that each grade has its own page where you can access your child’s daily and weekly timetables, activities, resources, web links, incursion details etc, everything that you will need to support the delivery of your child’s learning program. It also contains information and resources about supporting your child’s wellbeing as well as reference guides to ensure that you can successfully engage and navigate the technology platforms your children are utilising.

We have also included an ‘offline learning’ page for each year group where families can download the pen and paper activities their child is to complete. While the school will continue to provide work packages to students who require it, this page will be there for families who wish to download the offline work here. Offline work activities can also be uploaded through this page once your child has completed the unit.

The Hub will develop and change as we move forward and your constructive feedback will inform the development of the site as well as the home learning program we will deliver. Each grade’s page has a feedback tab for this purpose.

I thank enormously the work of our staff, particularly Ms Belinda Howard, Community Engagement Paraprofessional, who has worked tirelessly to design and deliver this facility to you. She has done an amazing job in a very short space of time.

I am proud to be offering this resource to you and commend it to all of our families as being the primary reference point for the Home Learning Program at Baulkham Hills North PS.
