What To Pack

Crunch and Sip

Crunch and Sip is a fruit/veg break that usually occurs during morning learning time.

Please provide a small piece or pre cut fruit/veg in a separate container to your child's recess/lunch.

Please provide a reusable bottle of water that can be refilled during the day if required.

Recess / Lunch

Recess and lunch can be packed in two separate containers or one container, depending on your/your child's preference. Please explain to your child what their recess/lunch is and what you expect them to eat first. Ensure your child can open/close their containers independently and containers/lunch bags fit easily into their school bag.

Hint #1: Yoghurt tubes and similar - open them at home to break the seal then tighten them just enough that your child can open them independently.

Hint #2: There is a water bottle holder on the outside of the APS school bag. This saves you purchasing a lunch bag that has an attached water bottle holder which can often be tricky to fit in a school bag.

Hint #3: Add an ice brick during the warmer months to keep food cool.

Hint #4: Remember to pack a spoon/fork if required. We can not supply one.

Healthy, fresh foods are encouraged.

Other Items

Hat: Students are expected to wear the school's wide brim hat at all times when outside. If they forget their hat they will need to play under the BP COLA at recess and lunch.

Raincoat: It is worth having this permanently in the bottom of your child's school bag for those unexpected rain showers. Students will be walking from 'Downtown' to 'Uptown' for library, Italian and the canteen and we don't have spare ones if they forget their own!

Jumper: Check your child can take it off/put it on independently during the cooler months.

Spare underwear and a change of clothes (including a pair of socks): incase your child has a toileting accident.

LABEL EVERYTHING CLEARLY WITH YOUR CHILD'S FIRST AND LAST NAME!

Medication

If your child requires medication/epipen at school, please contact the School Office and provide the necessary plans/paperwork along with the medication. NO medication is to be stored in school bags except for Ventolin puffers.

If your child requires an Asthma or Allergy plan, please provide the front office with an up to date copy.
