Ideally, Level 3 teams would meet live virtually with Level 3 Judges for a brief conversation
Organizing one-on-one calls with every Level 3 team creates some very tight time constraints
Some other challenges we're attempting to work through include: how to schedule calls, when to schedule calls, which platform to use, etc.
Also, we cannot discount inequitible connectivity issues for some team vital team members
We're exploring ways for asynchronus judging: perhaps judges can send questions and teams will have time to respond?
No matter what, we will have the ability to utilize submitted team presentations to allow judges to review projects on demand
The good news is that the Level 3 Scoring Guide will not need to change for STLP@Home. The Level 3 Scoring Guide is based on technology standards and serves as a guide for judges more than a point-by-point rubric. Therefore, the existing Level 3 Scoring Guide remains relevant and useful for STLP@Home.

Yes! STLP will still crown state champs for the K-5 Best Project in KY, 6-8 Best Project in KY, 9-12 Best Project in KY as well as the Dave Sigle Award for Technical Excellence (Best Technical Project in KY). Each team's school will recieve both a state champions award and (new for 2020 champs) a large championship banner suitable for hanging in gym rafters or on the exterior of your school.
Note: all 2020 STLP Awards will be delivered to districts only after healthy at home guidlines permit schools to return students to in-building learning.
The 2020 ISTE Conference has been postponed from it's scheduled summer dates to the weekend adjacent to the Thanksgiving in November. At this time, it's uncertain how we will proceed with the 2020 STLP State Champion Projects and presenting at ISTE.
