What STLP Is Not Looking For

STLP is not looking for traditional exhibit hall booths where students simply pick up flyers or listen to a product pitch.

STLP is not seeking partners who only want brand visibility without contributing to student learning.

STLP is not a sales event, procurement event, or vendor showcase.

STLP is a student learning program. The best partners understand that visibility is earned through meaningful service to students, not through direct promotion.

Important Guardrails

STLP wants partners to bring creative ideas, real expertise, and exciting opportunities to students. These guardrails are not meant to limit innovation. They are intended to protect students, schools, partners, and the integrity of the program.

Partner activities should NOT:

• Function primarily as a sales pitch

• Require students to provide personal contact information

• Collect student data without prior approval

• Market directly to children

• Require student accounts, logins, or app downloads without prior approval

• Include political, religious, or advocacy messaging unrelated to the approved learning activity

• Promote products or services in a way that suggests KDE endorsement

• Use student images, names, or work in promotional materials without proper permission

• Include unsafe, inappropriate, or inaccessible activities

• Create barriers for students based on age, ability, language, device access, or prior experience

Partner participation in STLP does not imply endorsement by the Kentucky Department of Education, the Office of Education Technology, or STLP. It also does not create preferred vendor status, special consideration in procurement, advantage in any request for proposals, or any guarantee of future business with KDE, districts, schools, or participating organizations.

Participation is based on support for student learning, alignment with STLP goals, and the ability to meet the responsibilities of the selected opportunity.
