Hello friends!
Today I wanted to post some of the projects you did during the course. Do you remember the presentations about different animal kingdoms? Or the lapbooks you created to present different kind of houses? What about the project about children's rights? I collected pictures and videos to show your hard work and final results. I also posted the video of the concert song rehearsal. Do you still remember the movements? I'm sure you do ;)
I hope you enjoy remembering some of the projects :)
Each group of students was responsible of working on one animal kingdom; they read information, summarized it, rehearsed the oral presentations and finally recorded them to create one video with all the presentations.
The topic was introduced to the students by one video of a child's everyday life. We talked about it and share ideas, and we compared that child’s life with ours.
Aiming to dive into the topic, the students gathered in groups of 4 and listed the rights they thought a child must have. When finished, all the ideas were shared and discussed in the big group (Shared list 5A, Shared list 5B). To get to know more about those rights, each student got the list of the children’s rights of the UN convention (Children's rights). We discussed them and reflected on how many of them we have covered, how the situation may be in different countries, etc. We also worked on some of the listed violated rights (violation of the rights), talking about them and comparing them with our realities.
After that, the same groups of 4 went through the rights’ list again and chose the 5 most important for them. Taking the laptops, they started creating a poster of those rights to later on print them, present them and put them on the walls of the corridors.
*The current situation didn’t allow to finish the posters and, therefore, it wasn’t possible to continue with the other activities of the didactic unit either.
Taking into account that the topic for the final show dealt with living in harmony and respect in our schools, we chose a song to suit the topic. Here you can see the song and the choreography ("I will survive"- Gloria Gaynor).
After spending some time rehearsing the choreography in class with our three teachers, we all gathered outside to practise it altogether. Here is the result, quite good right?
