In Infantil and 1st grade, students learned about the Thanksgiving holiday by listening to a Thanksgiving story about saying "thank you" to family, friends, candy, the sun, etc. Students then practiced drawing their own gratitude turkeys by tracing their hand and writing "thank you!"
Throughout the week, students practiced saying "thank you." After making their own hand turkeys, students decorated and wrote their names on hand "feathers" that were then added to a big class turkey.
This week, students in grades 2 and 3 learned about the history of Thanksgiving and traditional Thanksgiving foods! After discussing a short video and practicing new vocabulary terms, students completed a hand turkey craft, allowing them to reflect on the people, places, and things for which they are thankful.
