On Halloween, infantil students practiced identifying ghosts, bats, candy, and spiders in this fun balloon music game. After practicing the English vocabulary for different Halloween characters, we played several rounds of "Pass the Balloon:" a spin-off of Hot Potato where children pass the balloon in a circle while music is playing and have to freeze when the music stops. The child holding the balloon when the music stops is then instructed to point to different Halloween characters on the balloon (for example, "show me 2 spiders!").
Students then enjoyed creating their own pumpkin masks while listening to fun Halloween songs. After students finished coloring, we danced to Halloween songs, including Pumpkin Man Dance and Freeze by Jack Hartmann, Halloween Stomp by The Singing Walrus, and the Monster Shuffle Dance-Along by The Learning Station.
On Halloween, students in grades 1-3 played bingo! We first reviewed some Halloween vocabulary, then colored our own bingo boards before playing a few rounds of bingo. Vocabulary words included zombie, candy corn, witch's hat, and more!
