For students who have sat the IB Final Exams. Results are out, how did you do?
How do I access my results?
You access your results through the IBIS online platform. The DP coordinator gives you a login to a website before graduating. If you have lost it, you can contact the DPC to get it again.
I have applied in Sweden. It seems UHR/Antagning can see my results before me, is that really so?!
Yes, that is true for applicants within Sweden. If you have asked the DP Coordinator to release your results to UHR/Antagning, then those results will be issued directly to the institution on July 5th, prior to when you yourself can access them. This means you might already start to understand your results even though you can't see them because your status on antagning might change.
If your status hasn't changed and you still show as illegible ("obehörig"), you have to wait until you can access your results to see what has occurred in more detail.
I am not satisfied with my results, what can I do?
Contact the DP Coordinator via email to review the results together. You will get guidance and counseling about potential options, and any costs associated with them. Options include retakes or Enquiry Upon Results (remarking), see more on this page.
What are the requirements for earning a Diploma?
If you need to remind yourself about all requirements needed in order to earn the Diploma, you can read the General Regulations, Article 13 for a refresher.
How do I make a complaint?
Here is a copy of our Complaints Procedure.
You can retake exams with us or another school. At Hvitfeltdska and many other schools you need to wait until the following May to do retakes. However, by doing some research you may find a school that offers November retakes. IB charges a flat fee for retakes plus a fee per subject, to be paid together with the school's administration fee.
Students now have unlimited chances to do retakes. Students complete all papers in the subjects they are registered for. An IA mark will be carried over. Hvitfeldtska's policy is to not allow an IA to be redone. Please note it will vary from school to school if the IA can be re-done.
The deadline to register for RETAKES with Hvitfeldtska is September 30. After the deadline, it becomes more expensive to register.
If a student earns a lower grade on the retake, they will be able to keep the higher grade that they earned in an earlier session.
The IB also offers re-marking, which is called an Enquiry upon results service (EUR). Because of the extra marking this involves, it comes with a fee similar to that of retaking a subject. However, if a grade is changed as a consequence of the EUR, the fee will be refunded, and new Diploma (if earned) will be issued.
Category 1 re-mark
This is a re-mark of externally assessed material for an individual candidate. A candidate’s grade may be lowered or raised as a consequence of a category 1 remark. Consequently, as the original grade will NOT be reinstated, coordinators must obtain the written consent of a candidate or the candidate’s legal guardian(s) before requesting a re-mark on behalf of the candidate.
The re-mark is not possible for multiple choice in sciences (where the previous results will remain) or for a component for which a mark has been carried over from a previous session.
Another instance when this re-mark is not possible is if the paper was “definitely marked” by a principal examiner. The IB will inform us if this is the case.
Note that “The IB reserves the right not to allow a re-mark in any situation where doing so would undermine the integrity of the assessment system.” (150 Diploma Program Assessment Procedures)
The IB will try to complete an enquiry upon results in the shortest time possible, but allow at least three weeks to a month.
Request for re-marks need to be done with the DP Coordinator by early September, so that payment and communication with the IBO can be completed by the absolute deadline of September 15.
Please note that the outcomes of enquiry upon results (EuR) requests are sent to the DP coordinator. The IB will not communicate the outcome to anyone other than the DP coordinator. It is the DPC who will inform the candidate of the results and to send the new documentation, if applicable.
The DPC at ingrid.white.ashammar@educ.goteborg.se will be available to answer questions about results, retakes, and remarks during five working days following the issue of results in July. The office will then close, but re-open in early August.
