CLASSROOM OBSERVATION TOOLS
The Observation Profiles below can be used to audit your classroom based on the six Nurture Principles. Use the scoring key to reflect on areas of good practice and areas to develop. Record evidence of what you used to verify your assessment e.g. evidence of 'clear class routines' might include visual timetables, regular check ins, clear narratives to mark the beginning and end of lessons/activities etc. differentiated to learners' needs.

Whole School Nurture Observation Profile: Planning Tool
Once you have completed the Observation Profile, the Planning Tool can support you to make clear and specific changes to improve practice. Select areas from your Observation where meaningful changes can be made. Consult with your colleagues in school, the Nurture Network or your link EP for ideas and strategies. Remember, the goal is quality not quantity. You don't need to change everything: if something works, keep doing it. If something is not working, pick one to three things you could try instead. Give yourself time for it to embed and remember to come back and review.
