The online meeting was attended by 36 people.
The 3 presentations illustrated good practice at different levels of the system - working with individual children and young people, at a whole school level and the contribution of partner agencies and colleagues. They provided us with evidence of the positive impact that arises when nurture is embedded within practice and delivered in a needs based, sensitive and attuned way that is considerate of and aligned with the unique context within which it sits. They encouraged us to strive to create strong relationships, safe bases and to work from an understanding of the nurture principles and the theory behind them. They demonstrated the power of creativity in enabling us to understand the lived experiences of our children and young people and how best to support them to develop.
Many thanks to the presenters and their school communities for sharing their experiences and stories so eloquently.
Nurture Network Meeting 17th May
Attachment and Trauma Conference 2022
The online meeting was attended by 19 people.
Following several members of the Nurture Network attending the recent Attachment and Trauma Conference in Glasgow, time at this meeting was utilised to discuss the conference and any ideas that practitioners wished to explore further in their establishments moving forward.
Ideas discussed included the use of coaching circles, the use of language in how we write about children and young people, and creating a sense of belonging for all children and young people in school.
The presentations and resources provided by speakers at the Conference can be found below for everyone to access.
