Every child deserves the best possible start in life with the support that enables them to develop their potential.
At Blindwells Early Learning & Childcare Centre, we offer a safe, caring and enabling learning environment which focuses on developing communication and language skills, social and emotional wellbeing, literacy and numeracy skills. We value strong home-school links and the positive difference they can make to a child’s happiness and success.
We understand that starting nursery or moving setting is a significant moment for any child. We will strive to ensure your child settles in smoothly to Blindwells ELCC and ensure their first experience in education is underpinned by memorable activities.
We will provide a broad and balanced curriculum based on the Early Level experiences and outcomes. These are interconnected and are important for building a foundation for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relationships and thriving.
Our aim is for your child to become a happy and confident learner; inspired with a love of learning, which we hope they will carry throughout their life.
Important information:
Our Early Learning & Childcare team will be available every day at drop-off and pick-up to answer any questions, receive messages and celebrate successes.
We use physical jotters to build Learning Journal observations so you are able to share in your child’s learning. We also love to see photographs and videos from home to talk about and celebrate in ELCC.
Wellington boots and waterproof coats will be required for outdoor learning in rainy weather. Please ensure your child has footwear suitable for outdoor play.
Important information will be shared with you through our fortnightly 'Bee in the Know'.
Your child will be dismissed directly to their family member/carer. If the person collecting at the end of the day is different to usual, please inform the ELCC team before pick-up so that staff are aware and know who to look out for.
There will be lots of learning and exciting activities happening across the year. Please speak to our team, if you have some knowledge or a skill to share which will contribute to our learner’s learning.
Our Early Years philosophy
We value every child as a unique individual, treating each one with kindness and respect, and celebrating who they are and who they are becoming.
We believe that children learn best through play-based experiences and meaningful, hands-on opportunities. Through play, children explore, discover, and make sense of the world around them. It allows them to practise new ideas, develop self‑control, and grow in confidence. Play also gives children the chance to think creatively—both alongside others and independently—and to communicate, collaborate, and solve problems in ways that help them flourish.
By observing what each child can do, we nurture their strengths and celebrate their progress. We support them to fulfil their potential and become independent, motivated learners through a thoughtful balance of child‑initiated and adult‑led experiences. Our broad and balanced curriculum is designed to help every child grow emotionally, socially, physically, creatively, and intellectually, at their own pace and in a way that honours their individuality.
