Transport and energy infrastructure Ecology
Fernando Ascensão, PhD
I'm an ecologist, Assistant Researcher at Faculty of Sciences (Universidade de Lisboa). I have dedicated most of my research on the impacts of roads, railways, power lines, and more recently solar farms, on different species and processes, mostly in Europe and Brazil, using field-based and computer modelling approaches. Currently I'm interested in studying how these different infrastructures impact ecological processes and population dynamics, and how we can improve the Ecosystem Services within the infrastructure space (e.g., road verges and solar farms).
