This study is about the meaning of education and the concept of meaning. This course has been quite demanding but also an interesting learning process. It has been meaningful to learn more about semiotics and to understand semiotics the basic concepts and approaches of semiotics and their history. In addition it is important to understand the application of semiotics to education science and philosophy and to see pedagogical action as a meaningful interaction. I think it is very important to study the education of semiotics, because education is possible through the transmission of meanings. I think also that it were important to understand the relevant theories on education and study procurable today. That is why, because there is also need for a lifelong learning that is available for all students.
In view of the development of education semiotics, it is important to notice the rapidly changing working life, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning. This course could be developed by taking more account of educational activities in the practical sector and finding new perspectives for successful teaching situations. In connection with the language system, in addition to explicit knowledge, it would also emphasize intuitive information that opens up perspectives for the actual tacit knowledge. The theory can be seen as a set of data, which also includes a tacit knowledge. So we can talk about a kind of metadata - information behind the information. This will get deeper into absorbing the hidden treasures of information in our research studies in our time. I base my knowledge on the fact that tacit knowledge is linguistically unnoticed by guiding all our actions in a visible way.
In addition, multicultural skill-based competence could be highlighted, based on knowledge from different cultures. Overall, the content and structure of this course has provided a meaningful learning process!

Kasvatussemiotiikan kurssikokonaisuus on toiminut monipuolisena lisänä osana opettajanopintoja, ja on syventänyt myös kasvatustieteellistä ajatteluani. Tieteeseen tutustuminen on tuonut uusia ajatuksia ja ideoita myös pedagogisiin näkökulmiin aineenopetuksen näkökulmasta.

Kasvatussemiotiikka aihealueena tuntui aluksi aika uudelta ja haastavalta. Oli kuitenkin todella mielenkiintoista tutusta siihen varsinkin, kun se on aika uusi aihealue ja sitä on kehitetty myös Oulussa. Se antoi tärkeitä ja ajankohtaisia näkökulmia koulutukseen, joita voin hyödyntää opettajana.
