goal: Learn new painting techniques
I started to paint using a new technique called "underpainting". It means the first layer of paint applied to the canvas. It's supposed to act like a vibrant base for the other colors. I can choose to make the base warm toned or cold toned which will affect the brightness and tone of the other colors. I haven't tried this before and I think this will work as a nice base for a painting. I will work on this same painting also in the future to see how the base color actually will affect the outcome.
I used this video to giude me. I got great tips from it since I'm a beginner in this.
This is what I have done so far, I am pretty pleased about my work:
Me working on the painting.
I already have a lot of painting equipment and I try not to buy new ones so I will paint with what I already have.
Learning outcome: Challenge & skills
Reaching the goal of learning a new painting technique involves embracing the challenge of mastering new skills. Whether it's exploring watercolor blending or perfecting brushstroke techniques in acrylics, acquiring proficiency requires dedication, practice, and a willingness to experiment. Challenges may arise in understanding color theory, mastering different brush techniques, or adapting to unfamiliar materials. However, by honing these skills through consistent practice, seeking guidance from experienced artists, and embracing the learning process with patience and perseverance, one can achieve mastery and create stunning works of art using the new painting technique.
I have done painting before but now I would like to learn some new painting techniques and it's my goal for painting. I also chose challenge & skills as a learning outcome and this will offer me both. I stared to browsing new painting techniques from the internet and found some useful videos to guide me. I didn't start the actual painting yet because I need to choose what techniques to try first. I also found an interesting website telling about interesting tehchniques so I also linked it here.
