Data and calculations can be done quickly and easily using Google Sheets. The tool bar at the top of the sheet has the typical Google icons and adds the following icons at the end: Charts, Filter, and Sum. Data can be download into many file types including csv or Excel files. CSV and Excel files that are uploaded to Google Drive can be easily converted to a Google sheet.
As with most spreadsheet software, users can sort data alphabetically or numerically in ascending or descending order. They can also write formulas to calculate and manipulate data from one cell to another.
To prevent collaborators and/or users from changing information, users can protect sheets and ranges within sheets from being edited and/or issue a warning to collaborators to stay away.
Google sheets allows for more than one Sheet tab at the bottom to enable multiple sheets in just one Sheet Doc. Users can also comment and Share Google Sheets with collaborators. While simplistic in nature, additional functionality can be added to Sheets by visiting the Add-On store in the Add-Ons tab.
