Digital Technologies in the Mathematics & Science classrooms are a natural fit, however many teachers aren’t sure how to integrate technology in meaningful or transformative ways. Learning math and science without the integration of technology today would be like trying to do carpentry without power tools.
We’ll take a deeper look at how web-technologies, devices, collaborative tools, animations and simulations can all enhance students' understanding and engagement with science, mathematics and technology.
We’ll introduce you to some Power Tools that bridge the gap between school maths/science and the students’ world. The first part of this workshop will introduce and equip you with the skills to get started and second part will extend your knowledge further introducing more advanced technologies.
*It is important for attendees to be aware of the Education Directorate's Cloud Computing Policy and 3rd Party App Permissions (refer to https://www.education.act.gov.au/publications_and_policies/policies). This workshop introduces a number of 3rd Party Apps which integrate with G Suite.
If you are unsure what this means to you, please chat to leadership at your school in consultation with the documentation linked under 'Extras' on this site. If you have any questions please speak with someone from Digital Strategy, Services and Transformation (DSST).
