Thank you for your generous donations to the Founders Fund. This year we have raised approximately $50,000. We have spent over half of this money on musical instruments, a sound system for the gym, a stage, art supplies, building decor, and this summer we are sending a number of teachers to the Society for Classical Learning conference in Austin, Texas. At the end of the year I will send a full report so you know exactly how your donations have been spent.

A huge need we have is to outfit our gym. Why was this not done when the gym was initially built? Remember that we receive NO local tax revenue. We receive money from the state based on the attendance. This amount is approximately $8500 per student. While we are grateful for these funds, it is not enough to do everything we want to do, and it is not as much as the local ISD schools have. This is why we created the Founders Fund.

On Friday, May 3 we are hosting Family Fun Night. The purpose of this event is twofold. We want to celebrate a great first year by enjoying our community, and we are raising money that will go specifically to the gym and benefit every student on campus. The event is free to attend, and whether you attend or not, you will be given the opportunity to give.

Our goal is to raise $40,000. With these donations we will install much needed sound panels, buy weight room equipment, an ice machine, and a washing machine and dryer.
