Why: Almost everything a teacher does in the classroom has some effect on student learning. In the past, teachers used to ask, “What will work?” Now, with sophisticated research methods and a proliferation of information about instruction, teachers can ask, “What will be most effective for my students?” Participating teams have an opportunity to not only ask what they should do in their own classrooms, they are poised to assist their colleagues in selecting strategies that are high-impact, as well.
Outcome: Teams will develop a common understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies, the impact and importance of having a schoolwide strategy, and how Charter Seminars identifies which strategies to focus on.
