How to Apply

The application process at EDCO consists of a two-step enrollment process, an Info Session and Interview, following a referral from the BPS Re-Engagement Center (REC).

Interested students:

A. If you are in school, talk to your guidance counselor about being referred to EDCO through the Re-Engagement Center.

B. If you are not in school, call the Boston Public Schools' Re-Engagement Center (617-635-2273) and asked to be referred to EDCO. They will have a process you need to go through before contacting EDCO.

Once you have worked with the Re-Engagement Center (REC) and they have made a referral to EDCO, if you are eligible, we will contact you for an EDCO information session.

STEP 1. Attend an Information Session, with parent/guardian strongly encouraged to accompany students. At the end of the Information Session, receive an EDCO application and schedule an interview with the School Coordinator.

STEP 2. Come to your interview with your completed application forms and required documentation.

Following a final determination by the program director, you begin classes at EDCO! You will have a brief orientation on your first day, to meet staff, receive a class schedule, and review highlights of the EDCO Student Handbook.

Students, parents, guardians, and any supports with additional questions and concerns may feel free to contact the Re-Engagement Center at 617-635-2273 or EDCO Youth Alternative at 617-262-9562.
