The Python+Data curriculum provides comprehensive resources to support teachers in delivering a robust, semester-long course on data science using Python. The materials include detailed information on prerequisite Python skills, system requirements for accessing a Python Integrated Development Environment (IDE), and five units that introduce students to core data science concepts and practices.
The Python+Data units introduce students to essential data science concepts, including data manipulation, visualization, and machine learning using Python libraries like numpy, pandas, matplotlib, and scikit-learn, while also covering ethical data practices and advanced algorithms.
All curriculum materials have been developed by high school educators in Burlington and Chelsea, MA, through a backwards design approach using course materials from Bunker Hill Community College as a foundation. These resources are available in Google Docs format, ensuring easy downloading, copying, and customization for local educational needs.
