Applying to College

All initial college applications in Ontario go through the Ontario College Application Service (or OCAS). To access OCAS go to www.ontariocolleges.ca

At that site you can research by college or program and find just the right fit for you. In order to apply you will need your Ontario Education Number (OEN) which is on your report cards or can be obtained from your Guidance Counsellor. You will also need your student number which is 0. (We don’t use student numbers at LDSS).

The College application costs $150 for 5 choices (no more than 3 at one College).

Applications are due February 1, 2026.

Apprenticeships can start at Colleges. There are a number of programs that will help you get that apprenticeship and build your skills. Check out:

Applying to University

University applications in Ontario are handled through the Ontario University Application Service (OUAC). To do research and access the application please go to https://www.ontariouniversitiesinfo.ca/

You will need your OEN (Ontario Education Number) to apply. 3 choices costs $156. Each additional choice is another $50. There may be additional fees based on your program. Please see this website for more information.

University Fairs!

Ontario’s universities are excited to host a collection of events this fall, where students and their supporters can speak directly with university and student representatives. These events are free and anyone may attend. Encourage your students to sign up and connect with Ontario’s universities at the Ontario Universities' Events!

Ontario Universities' Regional Fairs

Events run from September to October
Fair-style events hosted across Ontario
Students can speak directly with Ontario university representatives and research their options

Ontario Universities' Fair (OUF)

September 26-27, from 9:30 am to 5 pm, daily
Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building
Ontario's universities gathered in 1 place
Free, annual event where attendees can talk directly with university representatives at their booths and attend presentations
Quiet spaces and a multi-faith space will be available

Note: For privacy reasons, students must sign themselves up for events. Do not sign up for any events on behalf of your students.
