How to Read a Graduation Summary
To complete the OSSD if you entered 2024 or later you are required to:
Complete 30 Credits (17 compulsory and 13 electives)
Complete 40 Volunteer Hours
If you began school in 2020 or later, 2 online classes. Opt out forms are available in Student Services or by following this link: https://www.amdsb.ca/apps/pages/OnlineLearningOptOut
Pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test or the OLC4O course
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (started Secondary in 2023 or earlier)
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (started Secondary in 2023 or earlier)

Complete 40 Volunteer Hours

Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC)
Earn 14 credits (including 7 compulsory credits)
2 credits in English
1 credit in Canadian Geography or Canadian History
1 credit in Mathematics
1 credit in Science
1 credit in Health and Physical
1 credit in the Arts or Technological education •
Plus 7 elective credits
• Students are not required to complete 40 hours of community involvement.
• Students are not required to pass the Ontario Secondary Literacy Test.
