News reports follow a very specific formula. To be effective, you should put most of your essential information in the first paragraph "who, what, where, when, why." The details to build the story should come after the essentials.
Your body paragraphs should be short and should provide additional details of how the event unfolded.
Remember that any time you have a quotation from a different person, you should make a new paragraph.
End your news report with a "what now? statement.
