Asking effective questions is essential in guiding our understanding of any concept. The complexity of your questions will determine the depth of our understanding. As you are learning new ideas, it is important to focus on two types of questions.

Inquiry Questions

These are the "big idea" questions. These questions are complex because they can have many answers. You can not use Google to look up the answers for these. These are the questions that make you think.

Guiding Questions

These are the questions that guide you towards answering your inquiry questions. These questions can be researched. To determine the right guiding questions to ask, you must ask yourself, "What information do I need to answer my inquiry question?"
