Being a LEARNER when using the toilets

Toilets are open each morning for students to use as they arrive to school. It is always a good idea to use the toilets before your classes start as there is no break between Period 1 and 2.

After eating your food and filling up your water bottles, we encourage students to go to the bathroom if they need before playing sports or socialing with friends.

Students get given two breaks each day. This is another opportunity for students to eat, drink and use the toliets before returning to class for their last period.

If you attempt to use the bathrooms but others are not following KSS expectations outlined in this lesson and making you feel uncomfortable or unsafe please talk to the teacher on duty near the toilets or any teacher so we can deal with these students and allow you to use the toilets

Ask your teacher respectful to use the bathroom. Remember that a teacher may ask if you can wait  for the reasons below:

• Breaktime is close and the lesson is almost over

• Another student may be out and they are waiting for them to return 

• they want you to see the content they are teaching so you don't miss the instructions for the lesson.

Once a teacher has given you permission they will write you a note as you may bump into a exec teacher in the hallway who will ask for the note to check that you aren't truanting class.

Use the toliets for the approiate use. Don't use your phone or take your time in this space as you are missing valuable learning time in the classroom.

When Complete return back to class quickly to reduce the amount of class time you are missing. This will ensure you are present for instructions and activities taking place in your class.
