Video Production is a hands-on, project-driven course. It is designed to spark the imagination and creative potential of its students. The required projects, activities, and lessons will introduce students to some of the processes commonly found within the communication industry. Lessons, demonstrations, and required projects are completed and presented in the school’s computer lab. Course content includes: scripting, storyboards, video taping, digital editing, adding sound and music, title pages, and presentations.

This course progression in the study of Communications is a practical introduction to the aesthetic and ethical principles, creative and writing processes such as VO/SOT, and technology used to create multi-camera and single-camera broadcast programs in the studio and in the field. It also introduces post-production processes and video editing using non-linear software along with newly emerging digital technology. This course examines broadcast production methods required for both non-fiction programming such as broadcast news and fiction-based productions. Prerequisite Coursework - FIMA and Video Production 1
