This course is a technology elective offered to students from grades 10-12. It focuses on engineering, technology and computer science. It is an introductory lab-based course that uses a hands-on approach to introduce important STEM concepts through the field of robotics. The daily instruction utilized LEGO Mindstorms equipment as a learning tool with students in the classroom. The Lego Mindstorms software enables students to construct and program as well as provide them the opportunities to experiment without prior knowledge or experience around programming. This course focuses on the construction, programming and application of Robots. It is divided into 4 parts: Construction of robots and sensor introduction, exploring math with robotics, research project on robotics in the real world and ultimately designing robotics team challenges.
