Progress Monitoring Data will be collected for students receiving targeted (Tier 2) or intensive (Tier 3) interventions by their interventionist or by the FAST proctor. This data should be used to adjust your instruction to fit your student’s learning needs.
1. Progress monitoring should be done weekly for students with an intensive intervention (Tier 3) and twice a month for targeted (Tier 2). It should guide your instructional decisions.
Progress Monitoring piece should fit goal of intervention
If a student is not making progress on three consecutive data points, changes need to be made within the intervention.
The classroom teacher should increase difficulty of task (i.e. reading level, math skill, back off rewards on behavior) when student is making progress towards goal (use goal of intervention plus trajectories)
2. Use reliable, valid, and technically adequate progress monitoring assessments matched to the student's needs.
3. This may include CBMs, FAST, PRESS, formative assessments, analyzed running records, etc.
