In the first weeks of school with our new access hour, I did some reporting to find how our students felt about the new class, what its intentions were, and the role that teachers played in it.
Investigative
A story was tipped off to me that students were interested in how each department's budget was set and who got to spend that money. Through interviews with the principal and department heads, I got to the bottom of this issue.
Feature
This year, veterans were unable to come to school on Veterans' Day because of coronavirus restrictions. Many members of the staff including myself wanted to create a platform for them to still tell their stories. I interviewed local veteran Pete Thompson and edited it down to include in the Veterans' History Project.
Live Sports Coverage
This year, for the first time, we have live sports coverage. There were so many things to learn in order to do this, and I was eager to know each thing. On the staff, I can lead everyone setting up and cleaning up as quickly as possible. We work with new people every week, and I help to train them, teaching them what we have learned works well and doesn't work at all. During the football season, I worked the switcher as director. During basketball I have been an announcer
