Guide to the SA group project

Setting up an SA Project

It is very important that your group works well and that everyone has a specific role in it. In order to set up your project and start working on it, please follow these guidelines:

1. Form FOUR EQUAL groups (of 6 students) from your class or another class in your year group (please check this first with your Homeroom teacher)

2. As a group, choose a SDG that you are interested in and discuss it with your teacher.

3. Give your SA Project a short, interesting name.

4. Decide where and when you are going to meet each week in school (mentor periods, LC periods, lunch breaks)

5. Elect the following roles in the collaborative group. Make sure that you rotate roles half way through the project.

• Moderator: Moderates team discussion, keeps the group on task, and distributes work. Gets involved: talk, do & listen
• Secretary: Takes notes/shares emails summarizing team discussions and decisions, and keeps all necessary records. Gets involved: talk, do & listen
• Speaker: Serves as group spokesperson to the homeroom teacher, summarizing the group’s activities and/or conclusions. Gets involved: talk, do & listen

6. Design the timeline for your project.
