There are 3 mandatory interviews with your Homeroom Teacher and/or CAS Coordinator.
- Interview 1: by end of October. Proposal of activities.
- Interview 2: June. Check on progress
- Interview 3: March Yr 13. Exit interview.
Your Homeroom T/CAS Coordinator will be looking at the following rubric. You will be Satisfactorily Exceeding Expectations if:
- Quality of Proposals: You have at least 3 activities approved to begin this term, all of which are well planned and supervised, an at least 2 of 3 CAS strands met.
- Time dedicated to CAS/SL: Your plan provides for at least 3 hours per week without the student being unbalanced.
- Supervision: Most supervisor forms are in, but student may need others for a later date, with sufficient reason. Solitary activities without supervision are okayed by advisor.
- Preparation: Student leads interview, shows outstanding preparation, is well rehearsed, and organized.
- Overall progress: High quality of proposals and interview.
THE PROJECT
You will be meeting expectations if ...
- Length: Project is at least 1 month in duration
- Collaboration: The project involves sufficient collaboration with others.
- CAS qualities: The student clearly expresses how the project fits at least one strand of CAS/Service for CP students.
- Proposal submission: The project is not only proposed on Managebac but also provides a detailed summary of weekly and monthly events, including goals for achieving smaller tasks leading up to the final product, presentation or conclusion of the project.
- Feasibility: The project is appropriate, challenging and—if school-based—reaches a genuine need or interest with a good plan for producing a feasible level of interest for the project’s success
