MILAM Fine Arts Academy SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES TO EARN POINTS!!

Activity 1 - Have your student read a book for at least 5 - 10 minutes (parents can help by reading to their student too)!! Send us a video of your scholar telling us a new vocabulary word they learned while reading, have them read that word (in the sentence it is in) from the book, and have them tell us something they learned while reading their book (ie. an important part of the story, something about the main character(s), a fun fact, or an interesting fact, etc.)!! If your student would prefer to write this info down or create a picture instead...send us a pic of their work and that will count too!! (10 points) *Earn 10 points every time your student completes this activity and sends us their evidence :)!! Students are welcome to use digital books and Kindle's as well!! 

Activity 2 – Attend one Ector County Library Event and take a photo - send the photo to Mrs. Ortiz on Dojo!! (20 points)!!

*Earn 20 points every time you attend an additional activity at the Ector County Library - send a photo of your student at the event to Mrs. Ortiz on Dojo and earn (20 points - for each event)!!

Activity 3 – Get a library card from the Ector County Library and take a photo with your new or old (VALID) ID card (20 points)!! Sign up for the Ector County Library Summer Reading Program for an additional (10 Points) and send us your reading log or tracking info!!

You and your SCHOLAR MUST work together to complete the activities and turn in a pictures or video on DOJO to Mrs. Ortiz to officially earn their points!! Let us know if we can share your pics on Social Media - Facebook or Twitter!! Earn at least 100 points (see other ways to earn points below) to be entered into a drawing for a for a Bike, Scooter, Kindle OR Tablet (We will also buy your child a helmet of their choice) - we will make sure the item you all choose - Bike with Helmet, Scooter with Helmet, or Tablet are perfect for your child!! We will do FIVE drawings for these prizes, so more of our students have an opportunity to WIN!!

**We will also be throwing a party for ALL students who participate in our Summer Reading Challanege and Earn at least 50 points - this party will take place at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year!! We can't wait to celebrate with them!!**
