M.S. "Along the Way" for Ph.D. Students

Ph.D. students who do not already hold an M.S. degree from this department may earn an M.S. non-thesis “along the way” upon admission to doctoral candidacy. Ph.D. students who choose to earn the M.S. non-thesis “along the way” must satisfy the M.S. non-thesis course requirement and may substitute the Ph.D. research proposal for the scholarly paper. Ph.D. students do not have the opportunity to obtain an M.S. non-thesis before admission to candidacy. The M.S. degree cannot be conferred in the same semester as the Ph.D. 

Please make sure you pay attention to the departmental deadlines set forth by the ECE Graduate Studies Office in the Graduation deadlines checklist. (The Graduate School deadlines may be later, but you should adhere to GSO deadlines in order to ensure timely processing.) 

Students must be enrolled in the semester in which they plan to graduate, and apply online for graduation via: 

1. Testudo (Graduate School)

 M.S. "Along the Way" students must submit the following to the Graduate Studies Office: 

1. Approved Program for Master's Degree form 

2. M.S. Plan of study form
