Good afternoon,
This week we have dived into our new topic of 'Where do you live' focus on our local area. The children have drawn their own houses and have been able to explain what features their houses have.
We have also raised enough money to adopt 3 donkeys - thank you for your support with this. The children have voted for one donkey per class and we will share the information about them soon!
Changing books:
To support with reading in school we are changing the day we are sending new books home. Please can book bags and reading records be sent to school on THURSDAYS.
REMINDERS:
For Autumn 2, our PE days will be Monday and FRIDAY. KS1 are very lucky after the half term break to be having one of their lessons with the Beyond the Physical coaches that come into school on a Friday.
In Maths, Year 1 are focusing on one more and one less than a given number.
In Year 2 , we are continuing to work on addition and subtraction strategies alongside developing our mental calculations and how we can use this knowledge to support written calculations.
In Writing, we are going to be creating our own version of The Three Little Pigs story with new characters.
HOMEWORK:
Your children will bring home their reading books on Thursday. We ask that you read with your child 3x a week and write in their reading records each time you read.
The children who have read 3x, will be giving a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a prize.
We know reading is essential for your child/ren and we thank your support with this.
Any questions, please come and ask us.
