Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

Year 5 have had a super week with Mr Willson and Miss Wynn. The children have really enjoyed learning about the Ancient Greeks daily life and creating a two page poster about this. 

Coming up next week: 

English: Year 5 - the children will be looking at the problem in our myth with a focus on speech and adverbial phrases and vocabulary for effect. 

Maths: Year 5 - the children will be looking at multiplying and dividing by 10,100 and 1000 linked to measure.

Curriculum: next week we will be looking at women’s right in Ancient Greek times. 

Science: the children will learn about the human circulatory system and describe their functions. 

 PSHE: Year 5 -We will relook at staying safe on online apps such as Whatsapp and To know that belonging to an online community can have positive and negative consequences (including people I do not know). 

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
